General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what your father in law had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be wise spread bone and soft tissue infection and will definitely need to be reviewed by a dental surgeon or ENT specialist and Xrays as well as CT or MRI may be needed to see the extent of infection.

Intravenous antibiotics may be needed. Surgical intervention or drainage may also be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
