Suggest Treatment For Breathing Difficulty Due To Cranial Bone Fusion

Good morning. I am asking for some advice about someone I know. I am a Chiro and while googling some information to back up my textbooks I came upon this site. This is your area of expertise and was hoping to get an opinion. 45yr old female with a decrease in breathing ability due to cranial bone fusion because of birth trauma. She is hyper reactive to everything. She gets a IgE reaction and massive histamine release to most foods. The last reaction was due to sniffing into a plastic packet to see if it was clean or to be thrown away. The next thing she couldn t breath and broke out into hives. It took 10 cimetadines and gentle mobilization to restore normal breathing. She is under medical care. She is due for cranial Sx in 2 months to restore normal breathing. Question: The hyperactivity of the immune system. Could it be due to an enlarged Thymus?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, thymus produces certain type of immune cells but only thymus proliferation may not be the cause as igE production is secondary to allergen exposure so thymus hyperplasia is not likely cause here.

Ots type 1 hypersensitivity which is more antibody mediated than Cell mediated and that's why cells increase may not be the likely cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
