Hi, My names Joe and I had sinus surgery 3 days ago(on Monday) to correct a slightly deviated septum, widen sinus cavities, and remove an air pocket. It is now Thursday and my septum splints have been removed but I am having an extremely big problem breathing through my nose, my right nostril in particular. It feels as if theres 2-3 tiny bumps in my nose restricting airflow. I was wondering how soon it will be before I will regain breathability in my nose and for any tips?
Noted the history of septal correction and sinus surgery just three days ago. Since it is only 3 days that the surgery has been done and the nasal splints just removed it will take some time for the edema of surgery to settle, blood clots and secretions to clear and the nasal physiology to come to a normal.
Do not worry at the moment. Use nasal decongestant and do nasal cleaning as your ENT Surgeon must have advised you. Continue other medications as advised. You will be fine soon, takes hardly a few weeks. Do regular follow ups.
I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
