Suggest Treatment For Broken Growth Plate In Toe

10 yr old boy with broken growth plate in rhs big toe, suffered injury a week ago, foot was placed in semi-cast but cast was removed by the second day due to discomfort. Child is running around with minimal pain. Will there be any negative repercussions if i dont follow up with the Orthopedic surgeon? The injury seems to be healing fine as most of the swelling is gone and the bruising has subsided almost completely
