Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis And Sinus Infection
Thursday I was diagnosed with bronchitis and a sinus infection. When I cough I was getting a very sharp pain in the back of my head. I still get the pain when coughing but now I also get it when I lean forward and the right side of my skull is swollen.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Sharp pains in the back of head, pain on bending and coughing is indicative of an acute and severe form of sinusitis and bronchitis you are already diagnosed with. I would advise in such a patient the following: Clinical evaluation and examination by an ENT. CT scan of the sinuses and the chest urgently to know the level of infection. Gram staining, culture and sensitivity of the secretions from the nose and sputum. Broad spectrum antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, nasal decongestants, symptomatic and supportive treatment. Steam inhalations. I hope this answer helps you. If required you may need admission to the hospital for parenteral therapy, observations and antral wash.
