Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis With Severe Pain In The Ribcage

good morning doctor, my wife has had bronchitis for a few weeks now and the excessive coughing has caused her to pull a muscle on the left side of rib cage the pain for her is bad it is difficult for her to get comfortable and sleep is near impossible help sleepless husband

Hi,

Such pain in severe bronchitis can be:
- A muscular pull, stress mostly relieved with hot pack, muscle relaxant ointment application (over the counter) or a pain pill like Ibugesic over the counter, taken after food.
- If there is no relief, take her to her doctor for needful antibiotic and other drugs to relieve her breathlessness after needful investigations like blood work, X-ray chest etc.
