Suggest Treatment For Bruise On Finger After A Dog Bite
Hello. I was recently bitten by a dog on my hand/finger. Two punctures from canine teeth and now my finger is numb in the area around the puncture that was on my finger. Both wounds are not closed and healed. My finger/grip is slightly weak and I still have bruising. There is a darker area of bruising on the palm side of my wrist heading down to the lower 1/4 of the forearm. I am also on Bactrim DS for any possible infection. My concern is there seems to be a small circle bruise beside (not sure if connected to larger bruise on wrist hard to tell). This small bruise has a slight lump as well. I am concerned this could be a blood clot? Should I go back to the doctors and seek further treatmeant??!!??
The bruise is probably related to the injury due to the bite, The bruise does not go away immediately. It might need some days to relieve. I don't think that it might need further treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
