Suggest Treatment For Bruised And Swolled Hand After Chemo Therapy

I had my chemo port removed today around 2:00. Well, now that the feeling has returned it s a little sore and that s alright. I expected that. The amount of bruising on the other hand has me concerned. Not only is there bruising it s pretty swollen. Most all of this has taken place over the past couple of hours. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Though minor soreness is normal at viggo removal site post chemotherapy; diffuse swelling and bruising over opposite limb is not normal and the same must be presented to your treating doc in ED. Till that time, local application of ice and keeping the arm elevated in arm sling are best measures to be taken at home.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
