Suggest Treatment For Bruised Ear

My 3 yr old son just fell and hit his ear on the woodbase of our couch. And immediatly his ear bruised and he got a huge blood blister on his upper ear. What should we do? Take him to the doctors? He did not black out or anything He cried for about 3 minutes and now seems fine. He is watching tv with an icepack on his ear.
