Suggest Treatment For Bruising And Pain In Upper Leg Caused After An Injury
My son was skateboarding and fell pretty hard on his left side. There is significant bruising and pain on his upper left leg. He has been icing it and says swelling seems to be going down but it s real painful when you touch it. He does not have a fever. Do you recommend we have it checked out?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain in case if he is able to put pressure over the leg for walking then it is possible that there is only soft tissue injury and no bony fracture. You can consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and an x-ray can help in confirming the exact level of injury.. In case if it only soft tissue injury then taking anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, cold compresses and elevating your leg while lying down can help.. In case if there is bruising application of Heparin containing ointment will relieve.. You can also apply analgesic gel containing Diclofenac..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
