Suggest Treatment For Bruising And Swelling In Right Calf Muscle After Injury

I blocked a slap shot playing hockey over 5pm weeks ago. Took the shot right off the right calf muscle. Bruised up good for 10 days now there is no bruising but over 35 days later the calf is swollen and there is now a larger lump or growth it feels like on the muscle ? Any ideas?

Hello,

it could be a hematoma (blood trapped inside the tissues) particularly if you haven't given the injury enough time to heal. You can confirm it with either an ultrasound scan or an MRI scan (better). Before everything else, you should visit an orthopedics specialist for clinical assessment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis, Internal Medicine Specialist
