I have something on my right tonsil, it looks like a bump way in the back and can only see when i stick out my tongue far enough and turn my head to the side... I am 35 yo and have had problems with recurring tonsilitis; once I ve been told by an ENT that, due to inflammation, my tonsils are scarred and has a rough or cracked surface... and they re prone to infection. Is that bump or growth normal or that s a result of scarring? Should I have my tonsils removed? It doesn t hurt or bother me, just the tought it s there...
That bump may be a tonsilar follicle infection or toncilar stone. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet amoxicillin with clavulinic acid 625mg twice a day for five days. Drink hot water only. Use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
