Suggest Treatment For Bump On Left Eye And Swollen Eye After Injury
My son fell off from cycle and hand a bump on his left eye 3 weeks back. The eyes was swollen and then when it opened up we saw redishness and took him to an ophthamologist. He checked and asked to put Tobromycin 3 times a day. The redishness has gone but the eyes is still pinkish.... sometimes it is crlear.... he rubs and it again turns pink......
As per my clinical experience, the swollen eye after injury indicates post traumatic hematoma formation due to compression injury of soft tissue of the eyelid and surrounding structures. The management guidelines involve: - Thorough splashing of eye with cold tap water - Local application of ice every 4 hourly - Antibiotics as cephalexin or penicillin covering gram positive organisms to prevent secondary bacterial infection - Anti-inflammatory medicines as diclofenac with proteolytic enzyme serratiopeptidase to resolve the lump faster
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
