Location : Top of Left Ear Signs and Symptoms: bump on the top portion near the edging (cartlidge) , it occurs to get hot on that area Treatments: it has been numbed and drained with a needle, the liquid comming out is a yellow oily color, looks like puss. It stayed okay for 2 days then swelt back up. Today was also drained and slit open with scapal to let gravity drain the fluid and they also put something on it to provide pressure to not let the fluid build up. Information: I thought at first it was Cauliflower but it is more of a bump not around the cartlidge, it was identified as possible cauliflower, insect bite. but is neither not sure of the results but is possible eurific(eurotic?) acid built up or a slight sign of roomatory(?) authritus. Question: Could you tell me what it is and if there is a way to get rid of it other then draining/cutting on the ear
As per the history of swelling on the left ear, incision, drainage and compression bandage indicate that this is most probably a condition called seroma formation.
The reasons can be trauma, insect bite or even allergy to anything locally or otherwise.
Since the incision has already been done and a pressure dressing is done, this is the best way to treat.
Also needed is to take an anti-inflammatory, antihistamine and oral steroid if needed. Continue the management as it seems to be on the right track.
I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
