Suggest Treatment For Bumps At The Back Of The Tongue
I noticed I have bumps on the back of my tongue I didn't have before. Plus there was a coating on part of my tongue that after brushing my teeth, scraping it, it's still there. Also I seem to get hoarse after talking just a couple mins. I am very cautious since I have had 2 types of cancer before, I just worry about it being throat cancer. Thank you for your help, Bette
As per your complain bumps at the back of tongue seems to be swollen Circumvallate Papillae that are tongue papillae that contains taste buds.. Coating can be due to poor hygiene leading to accumulation of food debris and dead cells over the papillae while can also be due to fungal infection known as Oral Thrush..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can start gargling with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water.. Clean the tongue with tongue scraper and also do warm saline gargles..
In case if fungal infection is ruled out then antifungal medications like Nystatin mouthwash and clotrimazole lozenges will help..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
