Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
fell and hit cheekbone under right eye. eye is fine, bump swelled on cheek bone under a skinned place which was lightly bleeding, have no cut/bleeding inside of mouth, bleeding has now stopped, swollen bump is slowly moving down face, bump is not getting any larger but bottom area is turning black like a bruise, have put cold pack on it off and on, what else should I do, will swollen area move down into smaller neck area?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bumps on the cheekbone after fall which can occur due to soft tissue injury leading to rupture of blood vessels and loss of subcutaneous fat.
Need not to worry. You should do alternate warm and cool compresses over the cheekbone and consult oral physician and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get evaluated and a proper examination and investigations like facial x-rays, MRI to rule out any facial bone fracture and head injury and can help in diagnosis and treatment. For soft tissue injury you should start taking anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
