Suggest Treatment For Bumps On The Knees, Feet And Hands

I have these bumps on my knees front and back, on my feet and on my hands. I thought it was an allergic reaction to something. I went to urgent care and they gave me a shot, antibiotics and benedryl. My hands and feet started to peel, now the bumps are coming back, they are itchy, red and in cluster formation. Not sure what else to do. It is painful and very itchy.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about you having bumps on knees, feet and hands, got treated with antibiotic and Benedryl but the skin is now peeling off and the bumps are coming back.
The commonest cause I can think about in this situation are as follows:
Dermatitis due to some reaction.
Multiple furuncles or boils and can be secondary to diabetes or so.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult a Dermatologist for proper clinical evaluation and investigations .
Blood tests for diabetes, CBC.
If the pus is present it can be sent for gram staining, culture and sensitivity. This helps for further proper treatment by giving the choice of antibiotic best suited for such a skin condition.
Apply Liquid Betadine that is Povidone Iodine locally to all limbs for avoiding secondary infection.
Do not try something at home as this can be either inadequate or can spread infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
