Suggest Treatment For Burning Pain In Kidney Due To Stones

I have been passing kidney stones for over a week now. Knew this was coming since am ultrasound showed a rather large stone that I would have to pass on my own. Currently I have burning pain in my right kidney and I am wondering if I should go to the ER since I am in fear a stone is trapped in my kidney. It has been burning for 3 days.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A history of kidney stone and pain in the kidney region is suggestive of pain initiated by the stone.
However, the pain cause by kidney stone is sharp and colicy.
It leaves the person topsy turvy and rolling about to find relief.
The kidney stone pain is not burning in nature.
The stone in the kidney cause pain which radiates from loin to groin.
Thus, other cause of pain needs to be ruled out before labeling it as kidney stone pain.
I suggest you to consult your doctor for clinical assessment.
If the stone is present, it needs to be managed by appropriate measures.
A large stone is managed by surgical means and smaller ones with conservative measures.
As you have mentioned that the stone is large, it may require surgical intervention.

Thanks and take care
