Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation During Urination Due To Herpes

I have had a burning sensation the last 2 days when I urinate. I have herpes and have had it for 8 years. Usually only have one or two breakouts per year. They usually only last 2-3 days and are very small. I am currently having a very small breakout and it is my first in 13 months. Same partner ( my wife ) for the last 6 years. Any suggestions.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The break out of the herpes may be the cause of the burning on urination though urinary tract infection may need to be ruled out by a urine analysis at your doctors office.

The use of anti viral medication would help with this present outbreak eg acyclovir or valacyclovir.
If the lesions heal and you still have discomfort then there may be another cause.

I hope this helps
