Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation On My Face
Hi Doctor,
I applied raw savlon over acne(after clearing out puss) on my face and left it overnight. when I saw my face in morning, my face became redened and burning where I had applied raw savlon.
Please suggest how to get rid of burning sensation and redness from the face.
You seem to have developed Irritatant dermatitis to Savlon.
I would suggest, that you use moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g fluticasone propionate twice daily for 5 days to let the irritation, redness and discomfort to subside.
Thereafter, once irritation subsides, you may use topical benzoyl peroxide gel or clindamycin phosphate gel over active acne.
An oral antibiotic e.g Doxycycline or Azithromycin, can also be started for inflammatory acne.
I would suggest that you visit a nearby dermatologist and get a specific antiacne prescription rather than trying home remedies since they might cause more harm.
regards
