Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation While Passing Urine During Pregnancy

Hi doctor, I am 13 weeks pregnant and every other week I suffer from really badly needing the toilet but when I go, nothing comes out; a dribble if I'm lucky, and a burning sensation that can last throughout the day, please help!
I drink plenty of cranberry juice when it happens but it keeps coming back. I know I should go to the doctor but I'm only 16 and I'm scared. Is there anything I can take without having to get a prescription, to prevent this?

Hello,
Your symptoms suggest some urethritis or urinary tract infection which needs medical attention. I would suggest seeing a specialist or your health care provider since you are already pregnant and would need further care. A urinalysis may be needed apart from a general examination and a sonogram of the pelvis and some blood counts to see if everything is normal. Please take plenty of liquids and water. Do not get self-medication as it is very harmful in pregnancy. Hope your query is clarified. Wish you good health.
