47 y.o male that runs regularly. Last two time I have run I develop a pain in my left calf (towards the outside) that feels like the onset of a cramp. Stop and stretch the calf muscle. Continue on and the pain migrates down my leg, leaving the previous spot and eventually works it's ay to foot where flexing at the toes becomes painful and I have to stop running. The next day the foot is swollen and it is hard to walk. By day 3 there is bruising in the toes. I stay off running for a few weeks, take ant-inflamtories, when it feels better I try to run again only to have it all repeat. I hydrate well and do stretching regularly. Saw my DR, he said that the reflexology treatment/massage I had on the foot caused the problem. I am not confident with that as being the reason for why I now experience the calf pain that feels like a cramp that leads to the eventual foot swelling and toe brusing, considering The first time it all occurred was before I had the massage.
