Suggest Treatment For Cat Scratch Mark On Skin

There is a stray cat that has been hanging around for a couple of days. My daughter picked her up today and when she did the dog rounded the corner, the cat jumped and scratched my daughter. Should I be concerned? It barely broke the skin. I immediately cleaned it with alcohol, then with soap and water, and then put medicated bandaid on it.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Animal bites or animal scratches should be immediately cleaned up thoroughly with soap and water.
Cleaning should be followed by anti-tetanus toxoid.
All animal bites and scratches have a risk of acquiring rabies infection, however, the risk of rabies is negligible if there is no open wound or bleeding from the site.
Since, there is no bleeding or breakage of skin, there is no need for anti-rabies vaccine but anti-tetanus toxoid is required.

Thanks and take care
