Suggest Treatment For Chest And Abdominal Pain

I have been taking Symbicort for my Asthma since Oct. Advair did not work for me. I have been having chest and abdominal pain, problems with swallowing, and burning across my chest since Jan. My doctor started me on Nexium about 5 wks ago. Even though it s helping, I am still syptomatic. Last wk I had an EGD/Colonoscopy. My EGD showed chronic gastritis and yeast. I am now on Diflucan. Just so you know, I do rinse out my mouth after using my inhaler twice a day. My question/concern is I need to have my GB taken out but the surgeon won t do it until my esophagus has cleared. Do I continue with the Symbicort and take the chance of the yeast coming back?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

A removal of the gall bladder is only indicated in your case if you have gallstones in your gall bladder. I believe you should have your gastritis adequately treated before considering gall bladder removal.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
