Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain And Fever

Hello. My son is 7. Today he started having some fever. Not sure if it was due to some exposure to the sun. He was out for about an hour. His fever drops with Advil. Says his chest hurts a little when he takes deep breaths. Just gave him Advil again. Temperature is now ok. I also rubbed him with some rubbing alcohol

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Chest pain on deep breathing is known as pleuritic pain.
And most common cause for this is lung infection.
He is also having fever. So we should first rule out lung infection in his case.
So better to consult pediatrician and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung infection.
Sometimes musculoskeletal pain can be the cause. So give him painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
Don't worry, he will be alright. But better to rule out lung infection.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
