Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain In An Obese Person

I m a 53 year old over weight female. 16 weeks ago I was pushing or pulling something and heard a pop, felt it on the right side of my chest. Now I m having pain in my pectoral, deltoid and tricep and in my back. The pain goes down into the arm. I m having trouble lifting a text book, pushing or pulling things and it seems like I m having numbness and and aching in my right hand. I don t have very good medical coverage so that is why I ve not seen a doctor yet. Should I just keep it immobile for a while?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a strained muscle. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day. I also suggest using warm compresses in the area of pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
