Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain

I have been having chest pains for close to 4 months. Ranging from mild to very painful, that they make me dizzy. I seem to be finding it harder to breath as well as like a empty feeling in my chest for a second every now and then when it happens. the pain also seems to go down my arms and in to my back and stomach at times. My G.P couldn't hear anything wrong. But i am still Unsure as I am only 20 within my weight band active but my father has had a stroke related to a faulty valve in his heart within the past year.

Hello, Thanks for posting your query on Healthcare Magic...
* Brief Answer: your age and medical history mentioned is not a soursce of worry , follow up chest tightness, may do an echocardiography to be sure.
*Explanation: My opinion is that ischemic heart disease is an important condition that needs good plan of management first of all anti ischemic medications such as antiplatelets and antihyperlipidemics are crucial. then regular follow ups with a cardiologist is a must to modify your treatment and see if any new findings in patient's heart condition exist. Of course healthy diet with low salt and fat content and regular exercising do help in such condition. avoiding stressful conditions and smoking is nonnegotiable.in your condition , an electrocardiogram and echocardiogram may be needed just to be sure but nothing serious is going on here,
I suggest my patients the following :healthy diet and exercise is good for your heart. family history is not enough to be overwhelmed about ischemia.
The information provided by you is not sufficient to provide a good opinion.
If someone comes to me with this condition I would ask them about other comorbidities and risk factors such as diabetes , smoking and obesity.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help, If not, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish you good health.
