Hi, my husband is having central chest pain, worse when lying or sitting. Also worse when breathing in. He says his throat muscles feel sore in the back of throat, feels as though he has a toothache (lower teeth, left side) and it radiates to the ear as well (intermittently). This has been going on since early morning (around 4 a.m.), so about 14 hours or more. There has been no reprieve. He ate pancakes and sandwiches yesterday, grits today. Should I take him to the ER, or see how he feels tomorrow? Maybe he's just stressed out and doesn't realize it? Thank you for your help!!
Hello welcome to HCM... Noted your husband have sore throat...
So here he might have respiratory viral infection and this infection can lead chest pain as constitutional symptoms...
Rest done...symptomatic management needed. Drink more water. Use distilled or hot water for drinking. Salt water gargle taken... Decongestent taken like oxymetazoline. Chlorpheniremine given for relieve inflammation. Avoid excess spicy food and smoking... Fried food taken less for few days.
If still condition increasing antibiotic given.
Auscultation done.... If need chest x ray done to do further work up.
Hope you get well soon.
