Suggest Treatment For Chills With Sore Throat And Headaches

I had chills with sore throat followed by burning type headache at the back of my head x4 days; didn t particularly notice a temp. Now the headache is worse with neck pain and stiffness and loss of appetite. I am a healthcare worker and live in Northern Arizona. I use Symbicort for small airways disease.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of chills, sore throat, headache particularly at the back and then the neck pain.
All these symptoms are suggestive of acute sinusitis with septicemia giving chills and other symptoms that you have.

I would advise the following in such a situation:
- Tests of blood for evidence of increased WBC and relevant other tests like that of sugar and so on; urine tests.
- CT scan of the sinuses and brain.
- To get started with an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines; nasal and oral decongestants.
- All these things will help for a proper early diagnosis and proper treatment.

I find this answer helpful
