Suggest Treatment For Chlamydia Leading To Pain In Penis

Good evening,Recently I was diagnosed with chlamydia. There is a possibility that I have had it for a long period of time. I always thought the symptoms were a sign of dehydration because the discomfort and discharge would go away as long as I was hydrated. I got tested when I noticed a lump on my testicle and a lot of pain in that area. I finished the treatment of cipro for the epididymitis. Then I took 4 pills of azithromiacin. I was told the pain and burning with urination could take up to 2-3 weeks to go away completely. It has been 2 weeks and, while it is feeling much better than before the treatment, there is still a decent amount of pain on the tip of my penis and down the urethra. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

Hi,

The chances of having other STD when you are having Chlamydia are high, including gonorrhea, herpes, syphilis, HIV. Would you please elaborate on how exactly you were diagnosed with chlamydia? And were there any other tests done to rule out other STDs?

I am glad that you are feeling better and improving. However, the pain on the tip of your penis and down the urethra would indicate that there is plenty of possibilities that you are still suffering from Urethritis. I would recommend undergoing a full STD panel, at least a Chlamydia and Gonorrhea test to eradicate infection. Although Ciprofloxacin effectively treats Gonorrhea and Azithromycin effective in treating Chlamydia, some strains of these bacteria are resistant to these antibiotics.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
