I have a question about chlamydia, I just got a call from a college I went to visit and they told me the room I stayed in the person had sex in the bathroom with a person who has chlamydia and that I should get tested and I want to know how likely it is for me to have it now
Hi, Welcome to HCM. STD organisms are highly fragile and can not thrive outside genitals or body fluids not more than few seconds as they can not withstand outside atmosphere. That is why they prefer the mode of transmission through sex contact. Transmission through casual contact and without any sex contact is extremely rare. So you need not worry about Chlamydial infection just because of staying a night in a room which was used by an infected person. Chlamydia can be treated either with Tablet Azithromycin or Capsule Doxycyclin. Dr S.Murugan
