Suggest Treatment For Cholecystitis In An Elderly Person

My 85 year old mother was recently hospitalized with cholecystitis while she was visiting family in Washington. The team of gastro doctors who attended her recommended that she have her gall bladder removed when she returned home to Plano, TX. The doctor they referred her to is out of her Humana PFFS network, so I am looking for a doctor in the Dallas/Plano TX area who can perform the operation for her.

Hi,
br>Cholecystitis is inflammation of the gallbladder. More than 90% of the time acute cholecystitis is from blockage of the cystic duct by a gallstone.
Treatment is usually with laparoscopic gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy), if possible, within 24 hours.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
