Hello, I'm 30 and decided to start taking the pill, I'm only on my 5th day and I already want to stop, the side effects are too much, I have chronic back pain all the time and have become emotional already, my question is if I stop taking it will I get my period after a few days or will it still be roughly around when my next period was due?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Oral contraceptives are not known to cause back ache as a side effect. It may be due to calcium, vitamin D deficiensy, arthritis, pelvic inflammation, white discharge . You need to get investigated for it. About emotions-yes it is possible with oral pills. But it reduces aafter a couple of months. If you stop a course of pills in between you will have braek through bleeding within a weeks time. Thanks.
