Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cough And Orange Flecks In Sputum

I've been coughing for about 5 weeks now, not getting any better with a week of Prednisone or my regular asthma inhalers. Sometimes I have small orange-flecks in my sputum. I am currently not on antibiotics. Are there suggestions I can make to my doctors about how or what to diagnose or treat myself? I am very tired of their wait-and-see approach. Because obviously waiting and seeing this far has not gotten me any better and has made me feel a great deal worse.

Hello
