Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cough

I have multiple symptoms and was wondering if any of them might be related. I have had a chronic cough for about a year. It developed after I had had a couple of colds. Within the last couple of months my chest has started to hurt when I cough and I have developed an itchy rash on my back.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The most common reasons for chronic cough are: (1) post nasal drip- this is the most common reason
(2)GERD
(3)asthma

Some persons may have more than one of these.

You can try using topical steroid nasal sprays (eg nasocort, nasonex, flonase, rhinocort) along with an oral antihistamines.
If you have a history of reflux, then treating this would also be helpful.

The rash may be related to a different possible skin conditions but it is not likely linked to the cough.

I hope this helps
