Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had 6 different antibiotic protocols since december. I had a punch biopsy done . I developed the same sensations one would get from an infection, swelling, burning, throbing in the lower right shin. I can recall having an itchy shin one night and scratched it with the heel of my left foot while wearing soiled socks. It is confusing as to what it is. AND I M SO DAMMED TIRED OF HEARING THERE IS NO CURE. I M TOLD IT IS CHRONIC DERMATITIS , OR THAT IT IS BACTERIAL,BUT YET NOT AN INFECTION
As per my clinical experience, chronic dermatitis may be secondary to auto immune response to initial bacterial infection of the skin. I would like to know the results of the punch biopsy taken before by the treating consultant. There are recent mdoalities available as Monoclonal antibodies Disease modifying agents The indications for the same in your case, has to be discussed in greater details with your dermatologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
