Hi,

With chronic headaches, getting preventive treatment in addition to pain medications would be very helpful. Let me know the drugs you have tried already. There are several different classes of medications and clients do not respond to the same extent to all medications. This makes monitoring after prescription very important in identifying what works and what needs to be changed. This is why I will like your prescribing doctor to do this so as to ensure monitoring, evaluation and modification of treatment until we get what works best for you. Other measures like good sleep, regular exercise, balanced diet, enough fluid intake, no alcohol, tobacco and caffeine have been of great help to other patients suffering from tension headaches. why don't you give it a try as well!

I understand your worries about this lump. To me, it is not uncommon to find a small lump in the neck region should e really be looking for one. What makes the difference is the size and how it progresses over time. The size, for now, seems to be just no problem and I will recommend that you monitor it and report any changes like increase in size and pains to your treating doctor. For now, there is no reason to get worried about this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
