Suggest Treatment For Chronic Migraine

Hi,I m 24 years old with Cronic Migraine currently (starting from past 2 years), PCOD, 20 kgs overweight and I recently broke my lateral Meniscus in an injury and cant walk properly, I m limping.I was advised to take BCP for PCOD which probably worsened my Migraine. Now I have been prescribed 3 different things for three different ailments. BCP for PCOD, Migrabeta 40 & Naxdom 250 for Migraine and Ultracet & am anti inflammatory for my knee (also arthoscopy to remove damaged Meniscus ). I m fed up and have stopped taking all the medicines. But even that doesn t help.Which ailment should I treat first.? With that knee I will never be able to loose weight, but I feel root cause of all my problems is weight. Whenever I diet, i get severe migraines. Please advise something.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
hi,

thanks for providing the brief history of you.

kindly first focus on getting the knee fixed. for which you may have to take an MRI scan to find the extent of injury. once assessed you can contact a physical therapist for the same. he will help you with multiple exercises which will make your knee stronger again. Post that a regular exercises along with the guided physical therapist will even help you get back to shape. along with this whole process your metabolism will improve as well. The physcial therapsit may use TENS therapy over the neck region and your migraine pain may come down. I have personally made a try on it and it has helped alot. Next is to strengthen the muscles of the neck which can hold the head without any lag.

now coming down to migraine. Certain times improving the metabolism of the body can help reduce the symptoms of migraine as I have tried on my many patients. A combination of meditation, breathing exercises, strength conditioning the most part of your problem should get solved.

taking a lot of medication may not turn out good over a long periods. weight is not a problem, but the problem is how the metabolism works.

with the grace of God I wish you a speedy recovery.
