Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain as you were taking
Omnacortil [Prednisolone] which is a steroid and is one of the potent cause of causing
fungal infection like Thrush as steroids reduce body's immunity and also cause rise in blood glucose levels by increasing
insulin resistance and causing blood glucose to rise as the breakdown reduces and increase in blood glucose is another common factor that causes flourishing of opportunistic organisms like Yeast and causing infection..
Blood glucose level 180 and glycosylated
hemoglobin [HbA1c] of 8 are indicative of diabetes.
First of all if you are still taking omnacortil you should consult your treating physician and discuss and if possible you can stop the intake of steroid or reduce the dose further..
Continue taking Hypoglycemics like Galvus Met as lower of blood gluocse level will be helpful in faster clearing of fungus..
For thrush you can consult an oral physician and get evaluated and he can advise you to take anti-fungal agents like Nystatin mouthwash and
clotrimazole lozenges for 15 days..
If it still does not resolve oral intake of anti-fungal agents like
Fluconazole or
Itraconazole can be done..
Take ample of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic and drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
