Suggest Treatment For Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

My husband has COPD moderate, feeling unwell for few weeks , ha itch/dull ache / heaviness on left of chest going up into his throat and breathless . Blood pressure 170/80 and has had heart checked 2 weeks ago and all fine and chest sounded 1 week ago and clear. One day feeling good next day not so good again . Any ideas ? He is 48
