Suggest Treatment For Chronic Shingles

I m having recurrent shingle outbreaks and phn in between outbreaks . I woke up this morning with a numb thumb ? It s still numb the whole day. It s more of an annoyance then anything . But my question is, is it possible to have internal shingles that just smolders rather then goes totally away? Cause for over two years I ve been dealing with this shingles and it s just one more thing added to the list of my problems and it s really got my down for quite a while now ? How long can this go on for with someone who s immune system is already compromised ? This last outbreak I have blisters up my nose and the pain got real bad behind my eye for like two days and I ended up with only one blister on the outside of the very tip of my nose I hope that s all I get on the outside cause they are very painful the ones that are up my nose. And the one on the outside tip it feels like 15 infected boils all in one blister. And my eartube on that side hurts really bad my lymph nodes on my jaw line feel like they are going to pop and this is the very end of this outbreak it s gotten a lot better but everytime I get up to do anything for too long it feels like the blood rushes to this one spot under my ribcage where I had a shingles rash and before long the nerves will feel like someone s running razor blazes Accross each separate nerve ? My face and eartube, and back ribs and shoulder blade also is where I ve had rashes in the past and it will hurt so bad and there s nothing there? Please tell me this isn t gonna last much longer ? It s taken what little bit of life I ve had away from me ! Thank you Sorry I didn t know how this worked I didn t know I had to pay ? I don t have an account sorry please disregard my my question Sorry

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The issue of recurrent burning sensation before skin eruptions can be part of residual neurologic effects of Zoster viral infection in which the past Herpes virus infection gets settled in the cervical ganglia or else. The detailed physical examination and history is mandatory for final comments in this regard. In my clinic, I do recommend a vaccination for best results.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
