Suggest Treatment For Chronic Sinusitis

I am a wtc rescue worker . I was diagnosed after 911 with chronic sinusitis. I have 3 attacks yearly with ear fullness, ear ringing, sinus pain, scratchy sore throat..this time I had a 102.6* temp and took me 9 hrs to get it down with cold compresses. Excessive seems to bring on the condition prematurely. I have had surgery removing large sinus polups and had the balloon thing this past winter to open the drainage..no help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The elevated temperature suggests that there may be an infection present that may require the use of antibiotics, with a history of chronic infection, a prolonged course may be needed.

You may need to be maintained on a course of steroid nasal sprays and possibly montelukast to dampen your allergy response.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
