General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

He is in stage called "hepatic encephalopathy" and is considered as advanced stage disease. As of now he has to take Rifaximin, laxatives and lactulose enema to reduce the toxin load in the brain. Consult a gastroenterologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
