Suggest Treatment For Clitoral Atrophy In An Elderly
hi. I m 56, 5 0, 130 lbs (although am now on the bone broth diet to get rid of the 15 extra pounds I ve gained this last year), started taking bio-identical hormones 3 months ago (estrogen gel and progesterone pill) which pretty much took care of hot flashes, and cut the depression by 50% or more. i have been having regular sex since I was 23. my clitoris seems to have atrophied. extremely hard to achieve orgasm. can I reverse this? thanks, abby
Clitorisatrophy can occur due to the hormonal birth control pills (estrogen& progestin) or as a woman enters into her menopausal phase. Avoid taking these medications if you can & use other protective devices for sex.
Clitoris gets swelled up when adequate blood flows into it during sexual arousal, it is partially maintained by testosterone. If testosterone level in a woman drops she may experience a decrease in the sensitivity of the clitoris & size.
You can use the clitoris stimulating gels & oils, vibrators, Oil warming lubricants (Touch lubricants). However, if you are not satisfied visit a gynaecologist, get examined to evaluate if you need a minor surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
