Suggest Treatment For Clogged Feeling And Ringing In Ear After Injury
me and my friends were playing around and I had gotten accidentally slapped very hard, and instantly I couldn t hear out of my right ear, it had ringed for about 30 minutes, and now it feels clogged, and is very annoying. what should I do to stop this, it s been 2 hours and it still feels the same??
Injury to the ear accidentally or an accidental slap on the area of the ear can result in rupture of the eardrum. The rupture can be partial or complete. Sometimes, even a small perforation due to baro-trauma may cause hearing problems, tinnitus, earache, sensitivity to sound and may complicate to vertigo. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT, get audiology tests and imaging tests done if required.
If the injury is minor then you will be treated with medicines, if its detected to be major, you will be treated with medicines and surgery. Get treated at the earliest. In the meantime, for relieve from pain you can take Ibuprofen or acetaminophen, one SOS when required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
