Suggest Treatment For Cold, Cough, Itchy Chest And Nodules In Lungs
Hi I am a 29 year old female. I have some tiny nodules in my lungs, basically scar tissue from a previous illness. Now every time I get a cold, it ends up in my chest. I have a bad, deep, constant cough for weeks, and my upper chest almost feels itchy on the inside. Should I be concerned?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done 1. CT thorax 2. PFT (pulmonary function test). CT thorax is needed to rule out infection as chances of infection are high in previous lung illness case. And CT gives much better idea than chest x ray for infection. PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis. As previous lung illness is likely to cause bronchitis. And your symptoms like constant cough and itchy feeling can be due to bronchitis. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. You may require inhaled bronchodilators too for control of cough.
