My 8 year old daughter had a cold with fever and sore throat one week ago and 3 days ago she tell me that she has something under her tongue. When I look I was a little surprise as I had never seen anything like that before it was like a clear bubble and I can see her veins from under the tongue. I asked her if it hurt she said only when she ate or drank fluids other wise no it did hurt. She is a very allergic girl so I though it might have been an allergic reaction so I have been giving her Claritin for kids it looks a little bit smaller than yesterday but it is still there. Should I been really worried and take her to the ER?
Sub-lingual cyst, this is clear and painless unless large enough. Large veins on underside of tongue are normal and present in every one. Allergic reaction in the form of an angio-neurotic edema is possible. This is not clear fluid he4nce you can take her to the ER. If a cyst then consult an ENT or Oral Surgeon for confirmation and removal by surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
