General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have a history of the removal of the gallbladder (Cholecystectomy). Yes, after cholecystectomy recurrent stones continue to form within the bile ducts.

You are suggested to visit ER, get physically examined & get all required investigations done.

Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. Surgery or ESWL, Extra corporeal shock wave lithotripsy or ERCP.

To treat Colitis, CBC, Kidney function tests, urine/stool examination, Colonoscopy, barium enema need to be done.

Your treating doctor may give you antibiotics, medication for pain relief, supportive care (intravenous fluids), etc.

In the meantime, you can take Omega 3 fatty acids. Stay away from stress & anxiety, do regular exercises.

Avoid fatty, greasy food, caffeine, alcohol & addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
