Suggest Treatment For Concave Middle Toe After Being Stamped

left foot middle toe concave after high school student stepped on left foot yesterday. Ice and elevation applied twice yesterday evening. no bruising, some slight swelling. high school trainer thinks tendon may be pulled away from bone and will apply stack splint later today. does this sound like an avulsion to you? what should I look for in treatment, physical therapy etc and what questions should I ask the orthopedic when i get an appointment next week? is next week too long to wait on this?
