Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been congested since the end of October. Clearing up for about 3 or 4 days then reverting right back to stopped up nose, sore throat and most recently a very swollen flap in the back of my throat. The flap of skin that you would suck when trying to get drainage on down your throat. What's up?
Persistent nasal congestion and intermittent sore throat may be related to allergic rhinosinusitis. This is inflammation of the nasal passages and sinuses. They can occur separately but commonly occur together.
You can consider the use of oral antihistamines and topical steroid nasal sprays such as nasonex, nasocort, flonase, rhinocort.
In addition if you can determine the trigger for your response and reduce your exposure this would also help.
I hope this helps
